First and foremost: HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
I know this post may be a bit cliche but hey who cares! I’ve been reflecting a lot of things in my life recently and what better way to share that reflection than with you all on Thanksgiving Day. So without further ado…
I’m thankful for:
- My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for without Him and His forgiveness I would not be anywhere near where I am today! I praise His name everyday for the blessings He has bestowed upon me.
- My parents – I didn’t grow up rich but they made darn sure that I didn’t grow up seeing how poor we really were. They both sacrificed and busted their behinds to provide for me and ensure that I never wanted to anything. We may fuss and fight and want to kill each other sometimes, but I could not have asked for any other two people in this UNIVERSE to call mom and dad
- My best friend – we’ve laughed and cried but we’ve been inseparable since 11th grade. 6 years and counting I thank God for a strong, intelligent, and beautiful woman to help me on this journey called life. I pray for many more years of friendship.
- My
NSBEfamily – our paths crossed because of a great organization. Our paths remained aligned because we all share a special bond. Never would I thought I’d truly love ~17 strangers from the VERY BOTTOM of my heart. Strong, intelligent, and beautiful African Americans all leaving their footprints behind in the places they’ve visited and their influence on the people they’ve touched. We began as the Region II Executive Board 2012-2013 – we remained friends – and prayerfully friends forever.
Now there is much, MUCH more that I am thankful for but I will not bore you with that long post. But whoever you are and wherever you are, please take the time to reflect and enjoy the people and things that you are most thankful for not only during the holiday season but 365 days a year.
