New Year Resolutions

These days everyone seems to not be into New Year Resolutions. Everywhere on twitter I see people bashing the masses for setting resolutions or “I’m just be a better me”. But is that not a resolution? Every year we all age a year. We go through various experiences – some anticipated some not. But as we go through yet another year, we should all be one year closer to the goals we’ve had in mind for our lives.

Now I won’t go into specific details of my resolutions because some are very personal to me and some are not wise of to speak of in this fashion. But I will say one thing I really want to do this year: get closer to God.

My Junior year of college I got a tattoo on my left wrist that reads “All things through Christ” a snippet of Philippians 4:13. I got this to remind myself that God’s plans for me are bigger than what my mind can comprehend at the moment and to have patience in His timing. But being a Christian is more than just preaching and wearing the word – it’s LIVING it. So that’s my goal. To be mindful of my actions and words and be a walking example of His glory in me. And with that He will make way for things to happen in my life.

Now if you aren’t a believer of the same faith that’s cool – do you. But keep in mind that yearly resolutions = if there is ONE thing (or multiple things) you’d like to accomplish in 2014 – you’ll make every effort to do so.

Happy New Year!
