STEM Explosion

For the entire month of June I've been blessed with the opportunity to help my alma mater (VCU) make a difference within the Richmond community. The School of Engineering held the Discocvery Camp, a week long engineering camp for middle school children, where students came in and learned about different aspects of engineering. Minorities in S.T.E.M.

So my first question for you [the reader] would be: Do you know what S.T.E.M. is? Answer: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (in case you didn't know). This is a field that isn't strongly populated by minorities in America. However, America is recognizing this deficit and are taking steps to expose more minority students to S.T.E.M. fields early so that it is amongst the career options or college majors they chose when it comes time.
